Join us to Review the First Draft of the Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Person
On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EST & Monday, January 28, 2019, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM EST, the Chair of the Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) Personnel Preparation Task Force, Eva Horn, will host a webinar to unveil the current draft of the first-ever EI/ECSE Personnel Preparation Standards. For over 25 years, CEC/DEC has had Initial and Advanced Knowledge and Skill Specialty Sets (i.e. knowledge and skills statements) that were used by educator preparation programs for curriculum development and to inform program review. In 2018, the CEC Board of Directors and then the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) approved DEC’s request to develop a stand-alone set of standards for early interventionists and early childhood special educators. Once finalized and approved, these Standards will be used by higher education faculty and professional development providers to develop curriculum, by programs submitting early childhood reports for CEC/CAEP program review, by states and licensing.
