Don't Cap My Care Medicaid Rally and Day of Action with the Consortium for Citizens with Disabil

Join the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) and allies on Tuesday, June 6th for a Don't Cap My Care Medicaid Rally and Day of Action. It is critical that we make our voices heard that Medicaid matters and that caps and cuts are unacceptable! We need everyone to join in on Tuesday, June 6th.

DC Rally: CCD and 30 other disability organizations and allies are co-sponsoring a Don't Cap My Care Rally on June 6th at 11:30 am with Senators Casey (PA), Wyden (OR), Van Hollen (MD), Duckworth (IL), Hon. Tony Coelho, and other members of Congress. The rally is at 1st St SE & Constitution, across from the Supreme Court. Attached is a flyer, and here is the FaceBook event and a webpage. Please spread the word about the rally widely with your networks, listservs and friends. And most importantly, we need you and your colleagues to show up!

June 6 No Caps Call-in Day and Social Media Action: For those of you with members or grassroots outside of DC, we need them to amplify the message from our rally in their state. We are planning for June 6th to be a national call-in day and day of social media action focused on opposing Medicaid caps. Attached is a Day of Action toolkit, also available online here, with information about calling in and social media (primary hashtag #SaveMedicaid and secondary of #NoCutsNoCaps). Encourage your state grassroots to take action.

State Rallies and Events: We are encouraging state advocates to plan their own Don't Cap My Care Medicaid rallies, press conferences and events in their own states. Encourage your members or state grassroots to plan their own or participate in events in their states. So far, there are activities planned in Texas, Georgia, Illinois, and Montana, with more in the works. For an updated list of state activities, see here.

Thank you for helping us make June 6th a success and send a strong message to Congress that Medicaid matters and that caps and cuts are unacceptable.

If you have any questions about the rally or companion activities, please contact Alison Barkoff (abarkoff@cpr-ma.org), Esme Grant (egrant@ancor.org), or Nicole Jorwic (jorwic@thearc.org).
