Why should you join DEC?   There are many reasons but here are quotes from DEC members that might inspire you:

DEC is my professional home--it's where I come when I need good, solid information or other professionals to connect with.

I love the journals!

DEC helped shape my career and I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve on a  national committee.

I joined DEC as a student and have been a member ever since--this is  my professional family.

Being part of DEC is an investment in my profession.

To join DEC, you need to first be a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). When you join, be sure to add our division-the Division for Early Childhood.  In addition to all the great CEC member benefits, here's what you can expect from DEC:

  • Journal of Early Intervention--4 times a year!
  • Young Exceptional Children journal--4 times a year!
  • $100 off  conference registration for DEC's Annual International Conference.
  • Order DEC products online and save 20%.
  • Save approximately $25 on registration for DEC webinars and other professional development events.
  • Children's Action Network connects DEC members to current policy.
  • Special Interest Groups bring members together to share research, guide practice, and advance new ideas.
  • Exclusive opportunities for leadership.

DEC members are actively engaged in national committees, reviewing proposals, providing input on national and international initiatives, crafting position statements, and shaping legislation.  We gather together at conferences, join in webinars, and exchange emails --all because we know how important it is to be the voice for young children with disabilities and their families.  It takes every one of us--and you too!
